10/31 Playlist: I'm completely obsessed

I'm a little late on this one, but I have just about worn out my Team Sleep CD already, so it's going to have to be the first recipient of the solo recommendation award. It's so mellow and so rocking at the same time...love love love. And that's all I have to say about that.

10/22 Playlist: A rockin' Halloween mix

Repeat after me: "I will make a Halloween playlist that does NOT include 'Monster Mash'!" Say it 10 times. Then make a CD with these songs for your All Hallow's Eve bash and you'll be the coolest kid ever.

"I'm Your Boogieman", Rob Zombie

"Dead Souls", Nine Inch Nails

"Be My Frankenstein", Alice Cooper

"Everyday (Is Halloween)", Ministry

"Halloween", Mudhoney

"Living Dead Girl", Rob Zombie

"Satan", Orbital & Kirk Hammett

"Shout At The Devil", Motley Crue

"I Put A Spell On You", Screamin' Jay Hawkins

"Pet Cemetery", The Ramones

10/16 Playlist: More of my latest loves

"Memo From Turner", The Rolling Stones (Metamorphosis)
I made a playlist of songs from the Goodfellas soundtrack, of which this is one, and despite the fact that I always think of a coked-up Ray Liotta when I hear it, I love this very cool, oft-forgotten Stones anthem.

"Sweet Librarian", Railroad Jerk (Third Rail)
If you haven't heard this song before, take my word for it and buy it off of iTunes. You won't be disappointed.

"Boy", Book of Love (Book of Love)
An old new wave '80s tune I can't get enough of.

"Somebody's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight", The Rezillos (Can't Stand The Rezillos)
I fucking love the Rezillos and this song is on about every playlist I have.

"What Girls Want", Material Issue (Destination Universe)
This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I've been listening to it a ton lately.

"You're Gonna Miss Me", 13th Floor Elevators (The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators)
This song is on a commercial now (for Intel or something? Or Folgers?) and it gets stuck in my head all the time.

"December 4th", Dangermouse (The Grey Album)
This album is kind of hard to find because of copyright issues, but if you haven't heard of it, it's Jay-Z's "The Black Album" remixed by Dangermouse with the Beatles' "White Album" and if you can get your hands on it, it's EXCELLENT. This is my favorite song from it.

"Whores", Jane's Addiction (Jane's Addiction)
Because I love the bass line in it, played of course by my fake boyfriend Eric Avery.

10/9 Playlist: Top 10 latest loves

So because I know you guys can't get enough of my music commentary, and I simply can't be sarcastic and bitchy ALL the time, I present to you RockitQueen GOLD, a weekly top 10 (or 20 or 12 or two) list of tunes that are on my radar. If you like, let me know. If you hate, let me know, too. And if you don't care, just go back to the snark at you know where.

Anyhoo, here's my first playlist. This week I present the latest songs I'm in love with.

• "Ataraxia", Team Sleep (Team Sleep)
Bad-ass drum fills, smooth vocals and dreamy guitars.

• "Ugly Sunday", Mark Lanegan (The Winding Sheet)
My quintessential rainy day song, from one of the best voices ever.

• "Gonna Be Mine", The Patsys
My favorite Columbus band (besides Magic City) does rock the way it was meant to be: quick, dirty and kick-ass.

• "Level", The Raconteurs (Broken Boy Soldiers)
Jack White does sexy '70s. RockitQueen swoons.

• "Mary Lou", Oblivions (Play 9 Songs With Mr. Quintron)
I scream along to it on the way to work. Don't laugh, you totally would, too.

• "Jump Into The Fire", Harry Nilsson (Nilsson Schmilsson)
Makes me want to learn how to play bass.

• "Our Love Is Real", Grave Blankets
Another entry from a Columbus band. Just try and get it out of your head!

• "Galvanize", Chemical Brothers (Push The Button)
Love it, despite the Budweiser commercial, because it makes me feel like I'm cool.

• "Open Up", Korn (See You On The Other Side)
I love Korn and I'm sickly loyal to them and everyone makes fun of me for it, but I don't care! This song simply rocks.

• "Arbeit Macht Frei", The Libertines (The Libertines)
More quick and dirty, but this time from everyone's favorite crackhead.
